Pictures from Spring After School Classes

A bit behind in posting on my blog, but I plan on catching up in the next few weeks.

Here are some pictures of my 4-7 year old after school art classes.

This first picture is of our accordian folded flower garden.  We made stems from all kinds of green things – straws, foam, pipe cleaners, ribbon, markers, etc.  Then we added flowers from paper that we previously painted and  tissue paper. Great practice for using scissors.

This second picture is of our Wayne Thiebaud inspired popsicles,  These are made with cardboard tubes, painted in lime, orange, lemonade, coconut, grape and other “flavors” . We then glued in sticks and put some glue in the middle to make two popsicles side by side.  It was great how we started calling the paint colors by the type of flavor. — and, of course, we had to celebrate our creativity with some real popsicles at the end of class!
